London the capital of the British Empire has many sites worth visiting. Start your tour by seeing Big Ben, the famous large clock tower on Parliament adjacent to the Thames River. Only a few blocks away are Westminister Abbey with many historic memories of royal weddings and the tombs of many famous British citizens of the past. Only a few steps away is Downing Street, residence of the Prime Minister. It is possible to visit the underground offices used by the Allies during World War II.

A tour of Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guard should be on every visitors list. The famous prison, Tower of London, now houses the priceless crown jewels. Tours are given by well trained Beefeaters. A cruise on the Thames River just in London or a longer trip to Windsor Castle is a great time to relax after sightseeing. The London Eye has beautiful views of the city and should not be missed on a clear day. There are too many churches and museums to see in a couple of days.
