Things to do in San Antonio
San Antonio is in the heart of Texas and the home of the Alamo, the most famous spot in Texas. Where Davy Crockett, Colonel William Barrett Travis, Jim Bowie and 186 others died fighting for Texas independence on March 6, 1836, after repeated attacks from Mexican General Santa Anna. Originally established in 1718 as San Antonio's first mission, The Alamo is located in the heart of the city, inside beautifully landscaped grounds.
Visit Mission Concepcion, founded in 1720 during the era of Spanish Conquest of Texas. The mission has been restored to the way it looked in the 1700's.
Other places to visit include the RiverWalk, Japanese Sunken Gardens, historic Market Square, Texas Adventure and SeaWorld.
A great place to get out of town is to see the Hill Country surrounding San Antonio.
